Hemp oil can refer to a full-spectrum oil from the Cannabis sativa plant or hemp seed oil, which is oil that only comes from the seeds of the hemp plant. But what are the benefits of this oil? And what can it be used for?
What is hemp seed?
Hemp seed is the seed from the hemp plant. These seeds are packed with proteins, healthy fats, vitamins and minerals. We can therefore state that hemp seed is very nutritious. Hemp seed has a mild and nutty taste.
Hemp seed contains many fats, it exists of even more than 30% fat. The fats from hemp seed are rich in essential fatty acids, namely: omega 3 and omega 6. In addition to these healthy fats, hemp seed is also a source of vitamin E and minerals such as magnesium, iron, zinc and calcium. Hemp seeds can be eaten cold or roasted, for example.
What is hemp seed oil?
It can actually be deduced from the name. Hemp seed oil is the oil obtained from pressing the hemp seeds. At Landracer we press and filter the seeds cold and with peel to preserve essential antioxidants and other minerals. The oil contains almost no cannabinoids, certainly no THC and sometimes a little CBD.
Hemp seed oil is usually used as a food and is legally available in most countries. The oil has a pleasant, strong taste. It can be used in various ways, for example as a salad dressing, in smoothies or on sandwiches.

Using hemp seed oil
Hemp seed oil contains important vitamins and minerals. A healthy diet is of course of great importance for both adults and children. Hemp seed oil is a tasty and healthy addition to a meal, such as a salad. Hemp oil contains minerals and vitamins such as: magnesium, iron, calcium, vitamin E, leucine, zinc, vitamins B1, B2, B3 and B6.
In addition to these vitamins and minerals, hemp seed oil also contains omega3, omega6 and omega9 fatty acids. These fatty acids can be absorbed well by the body because they are present in hemp seed oil in exactly the right proportions.
Hemp seed oil is a tasty addition
The taste of hemp seed oil is a bit similar to the taste of hazelnuts and walnuts. The delicious taste of this oil makes it ideal as an ingredient for various recipes. Hemp seed oil is often used as a substitute for olive oil over a pasta salad for example.
